Yes companies are coming up with new techniques for disturbing the land, but according to a report from Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers that the greenhouse gas emissions ,Which make up a total of 6.9% by 2010 of Canada's total greenhouse gas emissions, from the oil sands will increase by 3%  to make it  8% (roughly) by 2015 even with these new techniques.
